Great documentary, but the YouTube app glitches out constantly, playing sound to unflattering freeze frames...
-
It's great that they mentioned the GiantBomb review because their highlighting of "demonic invasion in progress" was when I decided to buy the game. "They've programmed their computers with a protocol for demonic invasions...this game is great".

Father Gascoigne worked on this game. Amazing...

Taste the cheese, cheese everywhere ✌

The beginning of the game ended up being exactly what Carmack would have done anyway.

Holy fuck! This is a brilliant series. So different to other documentaries about at the moment. Top notch quality.
Hugo is great, could listen to this guy talking about anything. Made even more great as he's a Maiden fan! I lost it at that moment hehe.
Carry on the great work in your documentaries.

THIS VIDEO IS AWSOME
-
This video is great but how is nobody noticing the Hell Knight with a motherfucking sledghammer at 1:30!?
-
I was really worried when we lost Carmack and Romero but Hugo seems like a g9od fit in the Id software team.
-
Wow look at the editing at 13:37 the way their movements are synced up. So much polish. Fantastic work, Danny. Keep it up.
-
Thank you so much for doing these Danny! This was amazing!
-
I'm so glad they brought Hugo on board. This guy gets it!

His "Early 90's video game death" impression at 11:00 cracked me up!

I'd be interested to see what the dev team thinks of the ending. I love Doom 2016, and it was a fantastic game, but I felt like the finale was the worst kind of anti-climax.
though it would have been easier to live with if single-player DLC was on the way -
Everytime I want to re play this game I remember it's a whopping 70gbs and it totally kills my boner
-
Reminds me of Fallout's humour.

I think my favorite moment in any game this year was when Doomguy shoves that monitor away in the very beginning as if to say "FUCK YOUR EXPOSITION BITCH!"
I went into Doom with very low expectations after the tumultuous development and an unimpressive E3 demo with overdone chainsaw animations and slow combat. And of course the first room began a lengthy dialogue with boring, uninteresting writing. But as soon as that happened I could not believe my eyes. There was no possible way that id had actually done the thing I had secretly been wishing all FPS characters have done for my entire life. -
74 demons are pissed off that one space marine alone was able to bring down the legions of Hell.
Keep up the amazing work Danny! -
This Hugo needs his own movie retrospective channel.

In part two of Noclip's look into the development of DOOM (2016) Danny analyzes the design of the game's opening level, and talks to Hugo Martin & Marty Stratton about the origin of the game's self-aware tone.
