Das Wort "drupa" ist eine Wortverschmelzung aus den deutschen Worten Druck und Papier. 3D* gedruckt ist die drupa Meeresmuschel, die die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Additive Manufacturing des VDMA für die drupa 2016 hat herstellen lassen - mit dem „Selektiven Laser Sintern“, einer additiven Fertigungstechnologie.
