Have you ever heard of the saying "You don't know what you got till it's gone."? This video is to prove that it is wrong. Many plane spotters, including me, surely do know what they have when it comes to Lufthansa's (LH/DLH) "classic" 737 fleet (meaning -300 and -500 models) and as all of those planes are older than 20 years by now (2015), it is certain that they'll be gone soon. And that will surely be the end of an era! After all, Lufthansa hasn't just been the launch customer for the 737 but an important driver behind the development of this aircraft! This is the main reason why I published this video, but it's not the only one. At about 2:00 you can see the aircraft turn South at a bank angle that I consider the highest to be regularly used in civil aviation! (Don't get me wrong here, I'm sure the plane is able to cope with even higher bank angles, but in civil aviation certain angles are not exceeded for passenger comfort.) The aircraft shown is D-ABIN, a Boeing 737-500 that first flew in 1991 and is scheduled to be sorted out in January 2016 like all other -500 models in the fleet. Following Lufthansa's standard naming scheme, it is named "Langenhagen" after the German city of that name (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langenhagen). It can be seen here taxiing towards runway 08L at Leipzig/Halle airport (LEJ/EDDP) and taking off from there for a flight to Frankfurt. Bei ca. 2:00min sieht man die Maschine nach Süden fliegen und zwar mit einem Neigungswinkel von dem ich annehme, dass es der größte in der Passagierluftfahrt regulär geflogene ist! (Bitte nicht falsch verstehen! Ich bin sicher, das Flugzeug kann noch höhere Neigungswinkel bewältigen, aber wegen der Passagiere werden gewisse Winkel normalerweise nicht überschritten.)
