no es bernstein

Un poco acefala la metrica, parece que bernstein estuviese dormido. A lo mejor la dirigio un alumno (o la orquesta sola) me extraña un resultado tan fragil de el maestro.

Why/how does this man (Mahler) speak so directly to my soul?

Nr. 5.... Such a magnificent genial piece totally ruined by that stupid, silly, rotten movie about Venice , also disrupting a masterpiece novel of Thomas Mann... A double sin I will never forget. It affected me to the point of avoiding the Adagietto is devil running from, a cross... Mr. Viscounti you may be a fair good Artist but you failed as much as an earthquake may rattle Notre Dame or the Milan Dome...Please, do your popcorn movies elsewhere but never, NEVER again touch Mahler or Thomas Mann ! Awful just thinking about it .

This is the beginning of the old, Old Age and the beginning of of the NEW. Listen to the end of the old. Be not afraid. Listen and stay awake to the beauty of the grand archetypes.... for the lasts thousand years.... !! This is our human story. This is Mahler. Listen.... this is our story.... our sonic-story. Written by one of our great geniuses, Gustav Mahler. Long live this sonic story of where WE have been... and where we may go with Grace. The 'story' is not an easy story to listen to. And yet.... We salll endure!!!! CVD

What is the coughing ?

Beautiful recording. The only quibble I have is that I think he takes the Scherzo a little slow - it is such a light, delicate play on waltz rhythms, but Bernstein makes it a bit ponderous.
-
Dear Bernstein - please stop ruining Mahler.

The best rendition ever of the best piece of music ever??
-
How moving is the movement at 49:05 A truly genious mind. In my opinion the greatest composer of our era
-
I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it hadn't been played before an audience of consumptives and tuberculosis patients.
-
The recording is a little reedy in the mid range but considering it's from 1987 its perfectly acceptable.
