I got a Seagate 2TB USB 3.0 Hard drive, Works amazingly fast, copied a 4gb file in couple seconds

Unfortunately, I think you broke Amazon. (grin) I ordered this set on Dec 27 and while I was told it shipped, apparently it didn't and they're out of the ADATA Premier SP550 M.2 2280 240GB SSD. I was disappointed that (a) they said they shipped it when they were out and (b) they extended the delivery time when they had no idea when they'd get them it. I'm even more disappointed that they billed my CC when I ordered it, rather than when they ACTUALLY shipped it (i.e., not yet).

I like the song, Carey!
Also the idea is good and I'm actually considering doing it now. -
Great video Carey and great suggestion!

Used the SATA version of the ADATA SP550 SSD for a lot of my clients, they're cheap but actually quite fast, the reads are almost as fast as an higher end SSDs. Writes are slower but most people benefit much more from the read speed than write speed, and it's still much faster than the other budget SSDs in the same price range(and a LOT faster than any HDD). Never had any failure yet. That's my "Go to" SSDs for upgrading the average user to SSDs, as the higher end SSDs can be cost prohibitive for many people. I wonder if the M.2 version of the SSD is the same SSD with just a different interface.

Love the 2004 comparison.

The most useful video I saw this week. Thanks Carey, i would have never thought of this, was actually going to buy a 128gb usb 3.0, but this is way faster.

Awesome!

HA! I have that same 1GB drive. I think I paid $128 for it. Sucker.

I was in 6th grade in 2006, and I remember buying a 1GB flash drive from Target. I don't recall the price, but everyone I showed it to, was amazed at how I got "so much space" now. :P My, how times changed.

$130 cdn for the drive, and $30 cdn for the enclosure, yay Canadian rainbow plastic money :(
-
Sweet idea.
I would make sure to give it ample overprovisioning since you probably won't be getting TRIM support through the bridge, otherwise you might start to see noticeable performance degradation, especially as the drive starts to fill up.
I'm always on the look-out for large, fast storage for creating (and recovering from) system image back-ups. Plenty of USB flash drives have fast read speeds, but very few have fast WRITE speeds. I've learned it's far cheaper to make your own USB flash drive than to buy one already made. Also, it's upgradable! CLICK THE BELL ABOVE TO BE INSTANTLY ALERTED WHEN NEW VIDEOS ARE POSTED!
