Boo hoo. The buggy makers were put out of business by automobiles. The stables went out of business too and buggy whips stopped being made. The foolish assumption is that good things would come out of preserving obsolete methods and jobs. Not true at all.

Post-fordism causes a realigning of the a labour force into an intellectual asset, rather than a physical one. It is a generational progressive, yes: to call it 'corruption' is preposterous. Without such changes, labour firms would shut, loosing more jobs. Not saying its the best system, but there is not some tacit agent that consciously decides these things. People like to believe the world is not as random as it is, thus docs like these. Reality is unnerving, yes, but not in this way.

I disagree... wrongly termed "fossil fuels", will last us well beyond 100 years. Do you think 100 years of further progress using said fuels is going to allow us to develop fusion power and other means? Look at the progress that we did in just 150 years in America. 1805-1955, from horse drawn carriages and klunky steam buildings, to thermo-nuclear power. The government fails at R&D, and destroyed our economy with corruption. This is why no amazing new energy platforms have sprung up.
